A POOLE man is due to complete a 4,500-mile round Britain cycling challenge this Sunday.
Ray Haswell, pictured, from Parkstone set off on May 21 and has been riding around the coast.
The 58-year-old former scientist is raising money for Gearing Up 4 Gorillas, a charity based at Gussage St Andrew.
Ray will have passed through 55 counties, crossed 10 major bridges, used 33 ferries and stayed in 50 youth hostels.
He said: “The only real concerns have been turning the pedals, looking at the views and the basics of life – food, drink and sleep.”
Ray is due to arrive at The Drovers Arms, Gussage All Saints, on Sunday afternoon.
Gearing Up 4 Gorillas is raising money funds for an environmental education centre at Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Ray has raised £700 of his £1,000 target and you can donate at <&bh"http://www.justgiving.com/Ray-Haswell">www.justgiving.com/Ray-Haswell<&eh>
