AFTER three years of negotiation, planning permission has been allowed on appeal for a development which the Inspector described as a “contemporary building which pays homage to the Art Deco style of Salterns Court and contributes significantly to the character of Lilliput”.

The Planning Authority had expressed concern about “a deep tunnel or trench” between the houses formed by the access to the underground parking area but the Inspector described that as “somewhat overstated”.

Malcolm Brown, director of planning at Sibbett Gregory said it was “a most satisfactory outcome after protracted negotiations with the Local Planning Authority”.
