Two people were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in hit a telegraph pole in Studland yesterday.
The road was closed near Knoll House Hotel around 1pm yesterday following the crash.
Services on the Sandbanks to Shell Bay ferry were also suspended for three hours in the afternoon, before re-opening to allow rush–hour traffic to cross Poole Harbour entrance.
Ferry operators said they planned to suspend services again later in the evening to allow engineers to replace the telegraph pole.
The driver was unhurt but two passengers were taken to Poole Hospital .
A spokesman for Dorset Police said they did not believe the injuries were serious.
