BARCLAYS employees from Broadstone raised £4,000 for Julia’s House children’s hospice with a range of activities.
The team made £2,000 from a musical night and raffle attended by more than 130 people at Broadstone Conservative Club, who enjoyed local bands Total Recall and the Spencer Duo. The event was supported by 18 Broadstone businesses who contributed raffle prizes while branch manager Karen Wallbridge and a colleague provided catering.
“Everyone in Broadstone feels very passionate about Julia’s House,” said Karen.
“All the tickets sold out within a couple of weeks and everyone we approached was really supportive. It may become an annual event.”
The money was matched pound for pound by Barclays Community Investment Charity Begins at Work programme.
“Thanks to Karen, Hazel and the Broadstone team the Barclays funding will now be able to pay for a part time carer for six months,” said Sue Miles of Julia’s House.
