THEY’VE been a bit quiet of late, but local rockers 100 Giants are plugging their guitars back in and bringing their alternative sound back to the fore.
Having been together for years under various different names, line-ups and styles of music, this latest incarnation have been together since August 2011.
Bandmembers Phil Savill (guitar/vocals), Tom Nettleship (bass), Luke Bocchetta (drums) have finally found a musical style that suits them. The sonic breakthrough can be heard on their latest track Middle.
The band draws its musical influences from such rock heavyweights as Sound Garden, Black Keys, Rage Against Machine, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Nirvana, Black Country Communion and the mighty Led Zeppelin.
100 Giants has a rich live history that has seen them grace the Wedgewood Rooms, The Joiners, Mr Kyps, The Half Moon, Monto Water Rats and the O2 Academy Bournemouth.
It’s been a while since they last gigged, but the band is booking some local dates soon, which 24SEVEN will keep you posted.
