SINGER Beverley Craven is to headline a charity open air concert next week for a cause close to her heart.

Leaf Live, is a fundraising event on July 13 for the charity Leaf organised by Natasha Jones.

Beverley wanted to support the charity as it has helped her sister Kathy, 42, a mother of three young boys, who lives in Wimborne and has terminal cancer.

The BRIT award winning singer who faced her own breast cancer battle seven years ago, first became a household name in the early 90s when her hit single ‘Promise Me’ reached number three in the charts.

“Since then I’ve had three children been through a divorce and cancer and it really does change you.

“I’m keen to get back to what I enjoy doing and this is such a great cause.

“My sister Kathy has been determined to spend as much time and energy as she can with her three young boys and Leaf has allowed her this luxury. “Not only have they provided her with practical help and support at home; Leaf has also sent them all on a campervan holiday, which I know they all loved.”

Leaf Live is Leaf’s first ever open air concert which takes place from 7pm-11pm at Merley House, near Wimborne.

The evening will be hosted by Elvis who is by day known as Dorset businessman Garry Foley alongside an array of local musicians.

Tickets cost £12.50 each and are £10.00 for senior citizens and children. There are also a limited number of gazebo pitches at £50 per pitch for corporate and private entertaining with the added benefit of bringing your own food and drink (there will be a bar and BBQ available).
