YEAR 10 student Megan Sharman, 15, said: “I think my time here has been great - it is so much more than just a school. Students are prepared for the future with enterprise activities and the teachers really care about what you want to do.”

DANNI Cotterill, 14, a Year 9 student, said: “I love the way that we concentrate on being eco-friendly and everyone wants to promote that.

“It is such a good school and I am proud that we do so much to raise money for charity.”

CREATIVE learning co-ordinator and dance teacher Amy Gilroy, who has been at the school for five years, said: “We are an incredibly close community.

“It is fantastic to work in such a creative and innovative learning environment.”

HISTORY teacher Stephen Cook started at Avonbourne College in September. He said: “I have been very well supported since I got here and we are all in it together.

“The girls are a very nice bunch, they try their best and they are really good.”

PARENT Julie Kirkby, who has a daughter in Year 9, said: “The thing I love most is that they encourage business ideas from an early age.

They develop careers right from the start and the new sixth form will give the girls another option to think about.”

BERNADETTE Bowler, whose daughter has left the school and is now doing A levels, said: “I wanted my daughter to have an all-round education and she got it here.

“It is not just about academic results – they are creative thinkers.”
