A TEAM from Keith Motors in Christchurch will attempt the challenge of a lifetime to raise funds for the Jigsaw Appeal for Women.

Colin Walker, Jon Winter and Nick Finn will climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours as part of the three peaks challenge.

The trio were inspired to take on the endurance test after Nick’s mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and a family friend, Jan, died last year after losing her battle with the disease.

They will be raising money for the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s much needed brand new Women’s Health Unit, which will be a centre of excellence to screen, diagnose and treat patients with breast and gynaecological cancer.

It will also cater for families undergoing complications in early pregnancy, including miscarriages.

Colin said: “We all felt that this was an excellent opportunity to raise money for a great local cause which was kindly suggested to us by Nick’s mum.

“This will be both physically and mentally tough and, as the drive between mountains is part of the challenge, we are very grateful that our friend, Ted Mitchell, will be getting behind the wheel to make sure we get to each destination safely and within the 24 hours.”
