On their fifth album, electronic outfit Hot Chip display their usual finesse at paying homage to their favourite genres of music while stamping their unique mark on each.
Elements of electro, house and R&B are fed into Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard’s Hot Chip machine and reshaped into catchy and danceable modern pop. Night And Day and How Do You Do are strong singles in their own right but the real surprise is the 1980s-sounding Don’t Deny Your Heart.
Although Hot Chip have never quite matched the inspired brilliance of their second album, The Warning, In Our Heads is the most rounded record from the group so far.
Look out for the boys at next month’s Camp Bestival at Lulworth, as they are headlining a festival for the first time.
