TEENAGE girls make space on your wall, as the south coast’s answer to One Direction is about to capture some hearts. Boy band South 4, have just signed a reported £1million record deal with the Branksome-based Eagle Music label.
The band is made up of 19-year-old Oli Evans, 18-year-old Luke Newton and their mates Joel Baylis and Henry Tredinnick. The four met while studying at Brit School, which has produced the likes of Adele, Jessie J and The Kooks.
Following years of hard work perfecting their vocals and looks, the lads are now set to release their debut single Cougar Town on July 2.
Oli said: “We’re really excited about the single. We think it will one of the hits of the summer.
South 4 formed while studying at The Brit School in South London, where a chance encounter with Poole record executive Jason Nolan, led to the group signing a million pound record deal and recording their first brand new single Cougar Town, with a team behind Tinie Tempah to name but a few involved, the band is destined for success this summer.
The band recalls that singer and star of the BBC’s The Voice, Jessie J was an early fan of the band.
“Jessie J came back to Brit School to visit last summer, she heard us practising harmonies for Cougar Town in the corridor, hi-fived me and said ‘You guys are gonna be the next big thing to come out of Brit!’ She really got it! We all went mental!”
