See the foot of the story for our video of Harry at Sandbanks this morning

FOOTBALL manager Harry Redknapp has said he is staying put in Sandbanks despite leaving Premier League club Tottenham.

The former Cherries boss is looking for a new job after his time ended at the London club but has no plans to move away from Poole in the event of finding a new role.

“I live here. Why would I leave here,” he told the Daily Echo outside his home this morning.

The 65-year-old's future was the subject of speculation when he was touted as a favourite for the vacant England manager's job two months ago.

He missed out on that role and was expected to continue his progress at Tottenham but has now agreed a severance package with his employers after failing to agree on a new contract.

Redknapp lives at the house in Sandbanks close to the ferry with his wife Sandra and has grandchildren at local schools.

He said he was looking forward to seeing more of his wife and joked that he may need to buy new football kits for them as they all have Tottenham shirts.

And he told the journalists that he was sad about leaving Spurs but he still has an appetite for another top job in football.

Redknapp's break from work comes after a turbulent 12 months.

He has been through a heart operation and in February he was cleared of two charges of tax evasion following a 13-day trial.

Redknapp helped Spurs finish in the top-four again this term but his side missed out on the Champions League after Chelsea won the trophy and took one of the English league's places in the completion.
