PEOPLE in the Bournemouth and Poole area are being asked to look out for an elderly man who has been missing from his home in London since last Thursday.

Patrick Connelly has relatives in the area and family is desperate for news of the 83-year-old widower, who needs regular medication.

Mr Connelly’s six daughters talk to him regularly on the telephone, but the last time any of them spoke to him was at 1pm on June 7. He also has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

When he could not be contacted last Friday, one of his daughters went to his house in Nunhead, south-east London. The front door was unlocked and the television was still switched on. The family believes he left the house wearing a thin jacket and sandals and did not take money, passport or travel passes.

Mr Connelly used to visit his sister in Poole when she was alive. His great-niece Teri Hill, who lives in Hamworthy, has put up posters at local railway stations appealing for anyone who sees him to ring Southwark CID on 101, quoting 12MIS018193, or 07956 803224.

“The Metropolitan Police have been searching around south-east London but there’s no sign of him,” said Mrs Hill. “He hasn’t got dementia and this is just not like him. It’s a mystery. It’s a very close family and that’s why we’re all so worried.”
