IF you’ve not had the pleasure of encountering Mr Mraz and his 70s soul style vocals, all that should be about to change.

It’s been a four-year wait for Jason Mraz’s fourth album since 2008’s We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, but fans will be glad to hear that the Virginia-born singer-songwriter, pictured, who’s now 34, hasn’t strayed too far from his melodic ballads.

The easy-going white reggae of hit single I’m Yours, should propel Mraz forward as a candidate for soundtrack of the summer. Love Is A Four Letter Word is, as you might expect, filled with catchy songs about love, all co-written by Mraz – such as The Woman I Love, Frank D Fixer and I Won’t Give Up – but there are also politically-charged tunes such as The Freedom Song and 5/6, inspired by his work with humanitarian causes.

What is missing from Mraz’s record is his humorous play on words as seen on Mr A-Z and Waiting On My Rocket To Come, but nonetheless, Love Is A Four Letter Word will satisfy the fans. The summer starts here, now all we need is a bit of sunshine...
