THE former boyfriend of aspiring model and college student Emily Longley goes on trial for her murder next month.

Elliot Turner, 20, from Queens Park will be in the dock alongside his parents, Leigh and Anita Turner, who are charged with perverting the course of justice.

The trial starts at Winchester Crown Court on April 16 and is expected to last for at least four weeks.

Emily was 17 when she was found dead at the Turner family home in Queenswood Avenue on May 7 last year.

The stunning teenager, who was brought up in New Zealand, was staying with her grandparents in Southbourne while studying at Brockenhurst College when tragedy struck.

She was born in London but moved to New Zealand with her parents, Mark and Caroline, when she was just nine.

After her death, thousands of people paid tribute via a Facebook site and friends and family spoke of her beauty and her ambitions for the future.

Her dad, Mark, told the Daily Echo Emily fell in love with Brockenhurst College when she visited with friends during a stay in Bournemouth.

“She went along to look round with them and instantly loved the place” he said. “Emily was starting to find her level and take a real interest in her studies. It was good for her to go there and I was so proud of her because she was making a success of herself.”

Mr Longley said his daughter made an impression on everyone she met and added: “She was striking and beautiful and everyone noticed her.”

Elliot Turner is currently in custody and his parents are on bail.
