TWO men have each been jailed for 32 months after admitting wounding a teenager in a car park after he had been out celebrating his birthday.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard that the attack took place in central Bournemouth after an altercation on the dance floor of Bar:Me near Horseshoe Common.

Prosecutor Angela England said a fight took place in Leyton Mount car park.

Friends of the 19-year-old victim Lewis Horder ran off and returned to find him lying on the ground, covered in blood and unresponsive.

His attackers, Stephen Grogan and Richie McDonald, were identified after swabs were taken from a car showing the victim’s blood and their DNA and fingerprints.

McDonald was also identified by a witness.

The court heard that Mr Horder suffered a number of injuries, including a broken jaw.

He underwent surgery and may have metal in his jaw for the rest of his life.

When questioned by the police, Grogan and McDonald, both 27, made no comment answers.

Grogan, of Wimborne Road, and McDonald, of Boscombe Grove Road, Bournemouth, admitted grievous bodily harm.

Grogan, who has 11 previous convictions for 20 offences, is already serving a 30-month jail sentence for drug offences and was on police bail when the attack took place.

McDonald has six previous convictions for eight offences.

Rob Grifftihs, for Grogan, said his client had intended to leave and had been followed into the car park by Mr Horder and his group.

Nicholas Robinson, for McDonald, said he had also reacted to being “set upon”.

Judge Mr Recorder Ivan Weintroub said: “Once the pair of you set upon the victim, who was isolated in the car park, it was a sustained assault by the pair of you.

“What you did was inexcusable. You used excessive force.”
