PLANS have been lodged to repair a seventeenth Wimborne bridge damaged by a lorry last month.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place on Julian’s Bridge, on the B3078, during the two week project.

Workmen will rebuild a section of the upstream parapet knocked down in the collision and replace four broken stones.

Dorset Highways has applied to East Dorset District Council to carry out the repairs.

English Heritage have to be consulted on the proposals as the bridge over the River Stour is a Grade I Listed structure.

The existing stones came from a quarry near Swanage, and engineers want to get replacements from the same area.
