THE owners of Boscombe’s Sovereign Centre have pledged to work hard to bring in new business after the closure of Peacocks.
The store was one of four to close in Bournemouth and Poole after only part of the fashion chain was bought out of administration.
The Sovereign Centre has also been hit by recent closures of TJ Hughes and Robert Dyas – although other firms like Sports Direct have signed new deals to stay put.
A spokesman for owners New Rover Retail said: “Some turnover of shops is an inevitability of the continually changing and dynamic UK retail market.
“However, we do not believe this was due to the trading performance of the store or town and reflects Edinburgh Woollen Mills’ business strategy. We will be working hard to secure a new occupier in line with our strategy to drive innovation.”
