DIRECTOR Marion Watson’s presentation of Norman Robbins’ Prescription for Murder is a traditional thriller with a dialogue heavy script full of red herrings that keeps the plot cooking on gas.

The Broadstone Players cast for this production boasted confident and experienced actors who clearly enjoy their parts.

Estelle Hughes was delicious as village ‘scarlet woman’ Julia Moore, dripping with disdain and polish in all the right places.

David Brown presented a suitably disparaging Doctor Forth, while Lesley Gannon was very endearing as gossipy cleaner woman Dorothy Livingstone.

Lyn Richell and Terry Warriner were also amusing as long suffering married couple Mary and Allan Haigh, while Stuart Glossop gives a strong performance as mysterious figure Eric Dawson.

Val Smith, an experienced and extremely likeable actor, was confident in her role of seemingly wronged housewife Barbara Forth. Quality set, sound and lighting set the stage very well. A production reflective of Broadstone Players’ hard work and experience and very watchable.
