RETIRED British Aerospace worker Peter Lunn of Bournemouth is celebrating after winning the £2,100 runner-up prize in last weekend’s Find the Ball competition.
“Wowee! That’s fantastic – you’ve made my day. I’m over the moon,” said the 84-year-old when told the good news.
“Mr Lunn, who has two children, three stepchildren and two grandchildren, plans to splash out on a meal with his wife.
“We could always do with a holiday. I think it will be a little trip down to Cornwall,” he said.
“I’ve been doing Find the Ball practically as long as it’s existed and I have been lucky in the past. I won £1,200 once and over £2,000 two years ago, I’ve had quite a lot of £15 near misses.”
Although Mr Lunn was born in Weymouth, he lived there only for the first nine months of his life and counts himself a true Bournemouthian.
A football fan, he used to be an AFC Bournemouth season ticket holder.
This weekend’s Find the Ball jackpot now stands at £29,000, and the runner-up prize at £2,150. The competition appears in four Newsquest titles each week.
