A PROJECT to help young people develop skills to prepare them for future employment is underway in Bournemouth and Christchurch.
The “One Community: Prevention, Intervention and Direction” project involves three schools from Boscombe and Somerford, two areas that are among the most deprived in the country.
More than 550 youngsters aged between 13- and 17-years-old, will attend three workshops, where they will learn about business and skills to improve their employability.
The initiative will be led by Young Enterprise and funded by JP Morgan.
Staff from Sovereign Twynham have volunteered to run the sessions, which begin on March 1.
Schools including The Grange, Avonbourne and Porchester are also involved as well as Bournemouth and Poole College, Brockenhurst College and Dorset Fire and Rescue.
