AN ACT misunderstood by Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan is on his way to the Funnybone comedy club at Centre Stage tomorrow night.

Former house husband Jasper Blakeley will be performing as his comedy alter-ego Kockov.

“I’m like a rude version of Derren Brown. It’s mind-reading with a twist. I’m also a stand-up comedian who happens to be a member of the Magic Circle,” says Jasper Blakeley.

Dressed in tight leather trousers with 80s mulleted hair, Blakely’s Russian alter-ego Kockov should prove a sight for sore eyes at the Bournemouth venue.

“Kockov arrived on the scene in 1989, after I went on an exchange trip to Moscow,” says Jasper, 41.

“I did stand-up in a cod Russian accent and he was born, though I needed the popularity of Borat and Derren Brown to help audiences grasp the character.”

He was inspired to make magic while reading Harry Potter and has been working as a professional magician for nearly ten years.

“I was a house husband with twins. I was reading Harry Potter and it suddenly dawned on me – that I remember doing magic as a child and that it would be quite good to go back and look at magic.”

Jasper got his big break when he contacted a company that made DVDs in the USA and UK.

He has performed his Kockov show at the Edinburgh Festival, Las Vegas and on Brian Conolly's BBC Two show Let Me Entertain You, but admits he has not yet cracked the talent show format.
