A POST mortem is being carried out to determine how an elderly man found dead in a Bournemouth garage passed away.

Although the body has yet to be formally identified, it is thought to be that of Ivor Holloway, 81, pictured, who was last seen in Walpole Road, Boscombe, more than three weeks ago.

The body was found at around 11am on Thursday by a member of the public in the lock-up garage in School Lane, Kinson, miles from where diabetic Ivor, who was better known as Derek or Ollie, was last seen on December 13.

Tests were being done to shed more light on the cause of death, although police have already said that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding it.

The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened if necessary.

After Ivor went missing police launched a high-profile public appeal for information on his whereabouts, releasing a picture of him a week after he went missing.

His next of kin have been informed of the body find, police said.
