THE South’s favourite song of all time is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

The 2006 smash hit beat Robbie Williams’s Angels to the top spot in a Wave 105 poll.

Adele’s Someone Like You, from 2010, was in third place ahead of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.

Throughout 2011, staff at Wave 105 surveyed more than 20,000 listeners to collate the all-time top five songs.

Having formed in 1994, Snow Patrol is back in Bournemouth with their brand new UK arena tour which will see them perform at the BIC on February 8.

The tour follows the launch of new album, Fallen Empires, which came out last month.

Singer Gary Lightbody, guitarist Nathan Connolly, bassist Paul Wilson, drummer Jonny Quinn, and keyboardist Tom Simpson will be supported by British indie band Everything Everything.

Rising to superstar status in 2003 with their five times platinum album Final Straw, which eventually sold more than three million copies worldwide, put them in good stead for their even more successful album Eyes Open.

What followed was tours around the world, sold out headlines shows and acclaimed festival appearances.

This tour will see the band performing their new material, including current single This Isn’t Everything You Are, as well as old favourites.

Tickets are expected to go quick and are on sale now.
