A BODY – thought to be that of an elderly man who went missing in Bournemouth more than three weeks ago – has been found inside a lock-up garage miles from where he disappeared.

Ivor Holloway, 81, who was known as Derek or Ollie, had not been seen since December 13 in Walpole Road, Boscombe, where he had been staying.

Police issued a photograph and description of him in an appeal for information as concerns for the diabetic pensioner’s welfare grew.

They received a call just after 11am on Thursday reporting that a body had been discovered in the garage at School Lane, Kinson. Police officers and ambulance staff attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dorset Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed. Although formal identification is yet to take place, Mr Holloway’s next of kin have been told.
