WITH the festive season fast becoming a distant memory, Wareham residents will be wondering what to do with unwanted Christmas cards.

Instead of simply putting them in the bin, the town’s Sainsbury’s store has provided a recycling point.

The special bin, that will remain at the front of the store until Tuesday, was installed to encourage residents to think greener.

Store manager Damian Fancy said: “As part of our corporate commitment to respect the environment we are pleased to be able to offer our customers an option for the disposal of old Christmas cards. We know that our customers are environmentally-conscious and we hope that by offering this service, we will be able to make it easier for them to recycle their old cards.”

All proceeds will be donated to the Forest Stewardship Council.
