A 16-YEAR-OLD robbed four teenagers of their mobile phones while brandishing a BB gun, a court heard.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, carried out the robbery with an older man in Duck Lane in Kinson shortly after 3.30pm on June 11 this year.

Angela England, prosecuting, told Bournemouth Crown Court that the boy pulled out a gun from his clothing.

“None of the four boys knew it was a BB gun, they had no reason not to believe it wasn’t a real gun. They felt fear of it being pointed at them.”

She said the boys were told to empty their pockets. They threw two mobile phones on the floor, tobacco and £6 in change.

One boy took out a mobile phone but put it back in his pocket, the court heard.

Ms England said the defendant’s accomplice picked up the items and the pair turned to walk away.

The defendant then turned around and fired two shots at the four boys, causing slight injuries, Ms England added.

The court heard the teenager pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to three counts of robbery and one attempted robbery.

Nick Robinson, mitigating, told the court the boy was “disgusted with his behaviour”. He said his mum is an alcoholic and he spent the majority of his time looking after her.

The court heard from the boy’s sister and grandmother who said he had changed since the incident.

Judge Samuel Wiggs told the boy the time he has served in custody on remand was the equivalent of a 12 month prison sentence. He sentenced him to a youth rehabilitation order with a 12 month supervision requirement.

He was also ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work and would be electronically tagged for three months.
