SINGERS of all abilities are invited to a winter workshop in deepest Dorset.
Acclaimed singer/songwriter and vocal coach, Rosa Rebecka, leads a full day of Christmas carols, wassails and winter songs from her native Sweden at Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Kingcombe Centre on December 10. Set in idyllic west Dorset countryside, the centre is the perfect place to get away from it all and celebrate the winter season in song.
Born in Gothenburg, Rosa grew up by the pine forests and lakes of southern Sweden, writing songs and poetry from the age of five and going on to play flute and guitar.
Bringing her winter songs to Kingcombe for the first time, Rosa says: “There’s some beautiful music inspired by the holidays, but also by the stars of the winter sky, and by the hope of the returning sun. I can’t wait to share these songs in this special place.”
The Kingcombe Centre lies within the hundred acre Kingcombe Meadows reserve.
The workshop Singing in the Seasons – Winter is on takes place from 10am to 4pm. It costs £45, including refreshments and a Kingcombe Centre lunch. To book, ring 01300 320684 or visit www.king combecentre.org.
