MUSIC fans are in for a treat next year, as two of the biggest names in the business have announced tour dates in Bournemouth.

Florence and The Machine will play the BIC on March 4, while Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds drop in at the venue on September 4.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale this Friday at 9am. Both artists hit the top of the album charts last month with their respective new albums.

Florence and The Machine’s second album Ceremonials has proved a massive success around the globe and this will mark their first return to the town since a memorable opening night performance at the O2 Academy Bournemouth in 2009.

Support on the night will come from the critically acclaimed indie band, The Horrors. Tickets will be priced at £29.50.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher has announced that he will make his first appearance in Bournemouth as a solo artist next year.

The legendary Oasis musician has added the BIC date to an already sold-out UK tour, so tickets are expected to fly for his September 4 show.

As yet prices have not been revealed. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds eponymous album debuted at number one last month, one of only four albums this year with sales in excess of 100,000 in its first week and has now been certified platinum.

Another giant of the music world, Bruce Springsteen, has also been unveiled as heading to the south coast in 2012.

The legendary singer-songwriter known to fans as ‘The Boss’ will headline the Sunday night of next year’s Isle of Wight festival on June 24.
