A 34-YEAR-OLD Poole police officer was due to appear before magistrates at Bournemouth this morning charged with trying to inflict grievous bodily harm on a 26-year-old woman.
The man, who lives in Bournemouth, is currently suspended from the force. The charge arises from an incident at Norwich Avenue West, Bournemouth, on March 24 this year, when a woman was taken to Poole Hospital with bruising to her face and body.
