THE countdown to this year’s New Forest show has begun, with organisers finalising arrangements for the three-day countryside extravaganza.

And with lots of new attractions and stalls organised for this year’s event at New Park in Brockenhurst, the show looks set to be a roaring success.

The gates opening on Tuesday, July 26 until Thursday, July 28 there are plenty of amusements to keep all the family entertained.

For youngsters there will be a Show Farm where children can interact with a variety of small animals as well as a Discovery Zone where they can scavenge, build dens and even take part in some wood adventures and potato branding.

And for the first time there will also be a Poultry Tent to enjoy the chickens, ducks, geese and rare breeds on display as well as the usual cattle, sheep and goat tents and shows.

More pigs than ever before will also be at the event, with a record number of horses appearing in the main ring and elsewhere throughout the show.

And as well as the animals there will also be stunning flower and vegetable displays and the always impressive Stewarts Garden Lands meadow.

Jamie Squibb and his motorcycle display team will also be returning with dare devil stunts to keep spectators on the edge of their seats as well as the Heavy Horse Musical Drive and The Solent Dog Display Team.

A vintage and modern farm machinery display and Pony Club mounted games will also be on display as well as a chance to scale 80ft climbing poles.

And a book, featuring the diaries of New Forest artist Anne McEntegart will also be unveiled at the show.

The Milk Lady at New Park Farm details life in wartime Hampshire, and will be launched by Anne’s niece Shirley Nicholson.

Visitors have until Monday to purchase discounted tickets with normal prices applying after that.
