A WEEKEND of old fashioned fun was held in memory of a 17-year-old girl who died riding her Vespa home.

Hundreds of scooter owners signed up to take part in the Jo Loving Fun Day at Wimborne Football Club, in Cowgrove, from Saturday through to Sunday.

The main event was a scooter gymkhana, and visitors could try their hand at wall climbing, plate smashing and a coconut shy. As dusk fell, the music and dancing began, with many people camping overnight.

It’s just one of many activities run by a memorial fund that has raised thousands of pounds for charity since Jo’s death in 1999.

Sally Meaden, from the Modrapheniac’s Scooter Club, said: “It’s a day of celebration and reflection. Jo loved children and the scooter scene and this day is all for her.”
