Two years ago at the weekend, I had a huge birthday party to celebrate turning 35yrs. I invited everybody I knew and celebrated like it was my last birthday - because at the time I thought it would be.

On Saturday I had a small garden party with my close family and best friends to celebrate my 37th birthday, it was a beautiful day & a lovely occasion but certainly not my last.

Suddenly forty seems achievable and that is such an incredible We've had a really great few weeks, the wonderful weather has certainly helped lift everyone's mood and not having to get up to do the school run for most of the past month has also helped!

The Royal Wedding was a really special day for the girls and I, the girls were so excited, Leah had been talking about it a lot at school and Megan just got caught up in Leah's interest & excitement.

Kev went out so we girls snuggled up on the sofa from around 9am and watched all the guests arriving and stayed there right up to 12.45pm when I had to go to the hospital for pre-chemo. I told the them we were watching history being made & it felt very special to be sharing the experience with my daughters.

Seeing all the people lining the streets of London was so incredible and although I have heard people argue that the amount of tax payers money spent on the wedding was a disgrace given the cuts suffered by the NHS & the number of people in the country struggling financially, I think the sense of national pride was so great it was worth every penny.

Some of you may have seen the piece in the Echo about the girls & I doing the Race for Life, the great news is that both 11am Bournemouth & Poole races are now full, there are spaces on both afternoon races if you are still thinking of entering.

We have already raised £85 in sponsorship but it would be great to raise more, here's the link if you want it: Nikki's fundraising page

I had a letter from the Pink Ball organiser confirming that £10,060 was donated to CRUK, she also said that one table of guests to the ball haven't yet paid for their tickets & as time goes on it looks less likely that this money will be recouped. What a disgrace!

That's £500 these people have effectively stolen from Cancer Research - I wonder how they sleep at night. Perhaps if you're reading this it may prick your conscience into coughing up???

My last scan showed no change again, this time it was a huge relief as I had been suffering some back pain. I think it was probably muscular pain, following some rather energetic routines on the Xbox Kinnect.

The trouble with living with this condition is that every single ache or twinge or niggle escalates in your mind to become something much worse than it actually is - and maybe I should lay off the exercise!?!?!
