CLASSIC Cars on the Prom celebrated its tenth anniversary with a line up of more than 100 cars.
The birthday was marked with a visit from Bournemouth mayor Cllr Barry Goldbart on Sunday April 17 who inspected classic cars including Minis, iconic Volkswagen hippy camper vans, and even a home-built Chitty Chitty Bang Bang vehicle on the West Overcliff promenade.
Around 100 classic cars pre-dating August 1983 lined up attracting admiring glances and comments from visitors.
Ashley Miller, Classic Cars on the Prom secretary, said: “This is our weekly meeting down here at Bournemouth Pier Approach where we have pre-1983 cars.
“We have them in from the 1920s upwards. This runs through until the middle of September. There’s a very good turn out of cars and people to look at them.
“It’s something that people think you just see in museums. Here we can show you all the cars from different eras and we hope that people come down and enjoy themselves looking at them.”
Classic Cars on the Prom holds weekly displays on Sundays 4pm to 6.30pm throughout the summer months.
