AA Milne’s honey-loving bear, immortalised in the illustrations of EH Shepard, celebrates his 85th anniversary this year. Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and the other residents of Hundred Acre Wood come to the big screen for a Winnie The Pooh animated feature to enchant both old and young narrated by John Cleese, bolstered by two animated shorts.

There’s more than a hint of Twilight about Red Riding Hood starring Amanda Seyfried as heroine Valerie. Loosely based on the folk tale; it’s given a dark twist by director Catherine Hardwicke, who brought the first Twilight film to the screen. Valerie is torn between two men; she is in love with woodcutter Peter but is being forced to marry Henry by her parents. Her plans to run away with Peter are thrown into disarray when there’s a werewolf terrorising the village.

If a reworked fairytale isn’t quite scary enough for you, a film about a deranged psychopath in a mask might just do it. Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette reunite for Scream 4 to try and rid the knife-wielding Ghostface for good. It’s been 10 years since the events of Scream 3 and Sidney (Campbell) has written a self-help book. Will she manage to outsmart Ghostface again?

IT may not have garnered favourable reviews (despite the fact it stars Best Actress Oscar winner Natalie Portman and Best Actor nominee James Franco) but if you don’t mind adolescent humour and charmless comedy, then Your Highness might be up your street. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
