FOLLOWING some exciting heats and an impressive array of contenders, the Dorset Music Awards final is coming to O2 Academy Bournemouth on Saturday, April 23, to find the winner of the contest and celebrate the best of the South Coast’s musical talent.

Formed in 2006, the Dorset Music Awards is an annual competition that develops the local music scene and is Dorset’s most comprehensive awards, offering a multiple of opportunities to local musicians. Each stage is designed to benefit those who enter.

This year’s final at O2 Academy Bournemouth will see last year’s winners The Longest Day open the event, with the five remaining bands – Cella Creeps, County Hospital, Evolver, Fearne and New Volunteer – competing for the prestigious title.

As the awards continue, other benefits include focussed self-promotion, chances to play at otherwise unobtainable venues, opportunities to perform in front of industry professionals and a selection of prizes that will enhance their musical careers.
