A CHARITY rally that hopes to raise more than £80,000 for good causes has been launched.

The Daily Echo-backed EuroRally 33 is being organised by Wimborne-based Charity Road Trips, which last year ventured to Tajikistan.

This year’s event will start in Wimborne on Saturday, November 12, ending the following Friday in Rome – the same night of this year’s Children in Need – where 33 Pudsey Bears will congregate at the Coliseum.

As well as backing the renowned BBC appeal, the trip will also give cash to five charities closer to home – Diverse Abilities, Wessex Autistic Society, Round Table Children’s Wish, Simon Says and Poole Hospital Charity.

Organiser Ashley Platen-Mills said: “We have designed the EuroRally 33 to be accessible to everyone – from companies planning a very different team building event for their staff, to just good mates having a holiday with a difference – and all for six very deserving children’s charities.”

The cars also have to be yellow and Italian or French in make and the co-pilot must be dressed as Pudsey Bear.

On each leg of the journey via London, Paris, Zurich, Milan, Lucca and Siena, the 33 teams of three will be set challenges for their “Pudsey” to complete, earning them points along the way.

The team with the most points wins the rally and the EuroRally 33 trophy.

The minimum donation of £3,500 per team includes seven days’ accommodation, the Channel crossing and food. Each team will also receive personalised T-shirts and coloured spots for their car.

Pudsey outfits are down to the teams, as points will be awarded.
