A HUGE fire saw up to 25 fire fighters battle to save a home on Sunday evening.
The blaze reported at around 5.35pm, destroyed the entire roof of the property in Breach Lane, Kington Magna near Gillingham despite the efforts of fire crews.
A joint investigation has now been launched by Dorset Fire and Rescue and Dorset Police to discover the cause of the fire.
Crews from Gillingham and Shaftesbury initially attended the scene but quickly requested support from colleagues in Gillingham, Shaftesbury and Sturminster Newton.
Crews remained on scene until 1am on Monday and returned to re-inspect the building at 8am.
Fire investigation officer, Steve Waller, said: "This was a particularly difficult incident due to the remote location and access to a water supply.
"However crews have done a really good job in extinguishing the fire as quickly as possible.
"We will be investigating the cause of this fire in conjunction with scenes of crime officers from Dorset Police."
