A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with chest injuries after an accident near the Bear Cross roundabout this morning.

The 48-year-old male motorcyclist from Bournemouth was placed on a spinal board as a precaution before being taken to Poole Hospital following the collision with the green Peugeot 106.

His injuries are not believed to be serious.

The incident took place around 7.47am, 200 yards from the Bear Cross roundabout towards Longham.

Police closed Ringwood Road at the Bear Cross roundabout and the Haskins roundabout.

It was reopened at 8.45am.
