PRE-TEEN firebugs are thought to be behind a blaze at public toilets in Poole.

Police believe two boys, aged around 12, filled a small ventilation duct with paper and lit it at Branksome recreation ground toilets at around 5.20pm on Thursday, March 3.

PC Paul Craig, of Poole police, said: “Fortunately, only minimal damage was caused to the toilets, however this reckless act was potentially very dangerous.

“The local community makes great use of the facilities at the recreation ground and clearly damage like this can have an impact on upcoming sporting events.”

The boys are white. One wore a grey check hooded top and the other a black hooded top. Both had their hoods up. They left in the direction of Playfields Drive. Witnesses or anyone who saw two boys acting suspiciously in the area at the time should call Dorset Police on 01202 222222.
