ONE lane of the A31 westbound remains closed this morning after a diesel spill yesterday afternoon.

Resurfacing work to the inside lane at Cadnam, just after the Stoney Cross services, is still being carried out after the spill, which happened at 4.30pm yesterday.

The spill covers about half a mile of road. Work to clear and repair the damaged road has been ongoing since yesterday and is set to continue until at least 10am.

Drivers are warned to expect delays. Traffic is queuing as far back as J2 of the M27.
