A MEMBER of staff at a children’s day nursery has been released without charge after an allegation of sexual assault against a child.
Starlight Childcare on the Dorset Green Technology Park, Winfrith was closed after a member of staff was arrested on February 4 following the allegation. The sex and age of the member of staff was not given.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Following a detailed investigation by the Child Abuse Enquiry Team with the support of partners including Social Services, the police inquiry has now been completed. The arrested member of staff has been released without charge due to insufficient evidence.”
He added: “Dorset Police have been informed that the nursery is now permanently closed.”
