VOLUNTEERS at Shillingstone Station in North Dorset have continued their hard work throughout the cold weather.
The platform, station, museum, and porter’s hut have been completed.
The picnic area has been cleared, and volunteers say the signal box has reached “an advanced stage of construction”.
New additions to the station’s rolling stock are set to arrive, including a small steam locomotive called Cunarder, a tanker and a brake van.
Organisers said an amazing amount had been achieved with limited revenue and volunteer numbers, and renewed their call for more helpers and donations.
