A MAN was found stabbed in the neck after a night out in Bournemouth.

Detectives released CCTV images yesterday of two men they want to question about the alleged assault, which took place in the early hours of New Years Day.

The 21-year-old victim, from Broadstone in Poole, had spent the night in Bournemouth town centre with friends.

Detective Constable Tristan Downie, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “The injured man got a taxi to the BP petrol station in Wallisdown Road.

“I understand that the victim was approached by two men, and that after a conversation, all three men walked off together.”

The victim was found by a member of the public in Goldenleas Drive, Bearwood, and a passing taxi driver took him to Poole Hospital at around 5am.

Det Con Downie added: “Following further enquiries, I am now able to release CCTV images of the two men.

“I would urge these two men – and anyone who recognises them – to contact police as soon as possible.

“It is essential that I found out exactly what happened and these two men may have information about exactly where, how and when the man sustained his injuries.

“I would also urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity along Goldenleas Drive, and possibly Autumn Road and Francis Avenue, during the early hours of New Year’s Day, to contact me immediately.”

The victim has since been released from hospital. Anyone with information can call Dorset Police on 01202 222 222 .
