Police say they are "gravely concerned" for the welfare of a missing West Moors man.

David King, 48, was last seen at the Antelope Hotel Inn, along the old town end of Poole High Street, at around 12.30am last Sunday.

Mr King had checked into the nearby Thistle Hotel along Poole Quay during the afternoon of Friday, 17 December. He spent the evening with work colleagues at the Antelope.

Inspector Steve Horton, of Poole police, said: "Six days have now passed since David was last seen - such behaviour is completely out of character for him and we are extremely concerned that he has come to some harm.

"David is the sole carer for his elderly and vulnerable mother and she is very distressed that he has not returned home.

Mr King is white, aged 48, around five feet seven inches tall, of a slim build, with very short dark receding hair. He was clean shaven and possibly wearing a blue anorak when he was last seen.

CCTV images have been released of Mr King in the lobby of the Thistle Hotel, before he left for the Christmas party.
