A WISHLIST for David has gone global, with family and friends in America and Italy starting to fundraise for the terminally ill little boy.

The Daily Echo appeal was launched a week ago to try to help the family of a five-year-old boy dying from a rare and inoperable brain tumour.

David, whose name has been changed at the request of his family, was diagnosed with the tumour in September.

He is currently undergoing six weeks of intensive radiotherapy, which should enable him to live like a normal child for two months. Beyond that time, doctors have offered little hope.

And kind-hearted Echo readers have been quick to rally round and support the Red Ranger Community Fund, named after David’s beloved Power Rangers.

The latest offers of help have come from Castle Cover who will provide the insurance for the family’s trip to Disneyland Paris.

The Steve Bernard Foundation has offered to organise a special fundraising event for the family and freelance photographer Anna Morgan has offered a photography session.

The family has also been put in touch with a builder who might be able to help fulfil David’s wish of decorating the family home.

Fundraising events are also taking place in schools across Bournemouth and Christchurch and the family has expressed its thanks to Carole and all the ladies from TC’s, Pinkies Cupcakes, Janet Ganderton from JG Services at Creekmoor and all the staff at Engleburn Care Home.

Anyone wishing to enter the fun run on Sunday, December 12, needs to download their registration form from theredrangerfund.co.uk and post it to 31 Downey Close, Bournemouth, by Thursday.

Runners can also register before 11am on the day itself. The race will start at noon and go from Bournemouth Pier to Alum Chine and back.

A new account number for the Red Ranger Fund has also been set up. Donations can be made to The Red Ranger Fund, sort code 40-17-22, account number 81558196. A number of items remain on the wishlist: l To find a Rainbow Ranger toy.
