A SPECTACULAR Daily Echo-backed fireworks display will light up the skies of Bournemouth on Saturday, November 6.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the annual event at Butchers Coppice Scout Camp and Community Centre in West Howe. Children in the area are being challenged to create a Guy to burn on the bonfire.

Last year’s event raised over £6,000 for local charities. Local Scouts, Guides and other youth charities will be among those benefiting this year.

Organiser Talbot Massey said: “We’ve kept the prices as low as possible to keep it affordable for families here and we’re working with some really talented pyrotechnicians to make sure it’s a memorable display.”

The gates at Duck Lane and Holloway Avenue open at 5.30pm. Attractions will include bouncy castles, children’s rides, stalls, refreshments, barbecues and a hog roast.

The fireworks display itself is scheduled for 7.30pm and is expected to last for around 20 minutes.

Tickets, which are cheaper if bought in advance, are on sale now at Butchers Coppice and Fernheath Play Association.
