RADIO presenters from Hope FM, Bournemouth's Community Christian Radio Station, will shortly swap their usual Hope T-Shirts to support a nationwide Not Ashamed’ campaign.

They are urging Christians to wear the Not Ashamed logo during Advent this year, and especially on Wednesday, December 1 which has been designated Not Ashamed Day.

Christians subject to “discrimination” in schools and work-placers as a result of being open about their Christian beliefs launched the campaign urging Christians across the country to stand together.

The National Campaign is organised by Christian Concern for our Nation. Its founder, Andrea Minichiello Williams, says: “There is widespread recognition of the attempt in our society to remove Jesus Christ from public life, restricting Him to the domain of the ‘private and personal’ with disastrous effect for both individuals and our communities. This has meant that many Christians have felt unable to speak and live out their faith, confused and bewildered at what they are allowed to day and do in public. This campaign is about giving the grassroots the courage to stand up and be counted and fearlessly declare that they are not ashamed of who they are or what they believe in.”

Station manager of Hope FM, Kevin Potter, believes the campaign has come at a time when the UK is “ripe for revival!” and that people will turn back to God. “But This will only happen when Christ-ians take their rightful place in society,” Kevin told me. “God is looking for people who will make a stand and speak up for what they believe. Muslims make no bones about the fact of who they are and what they stand for and so should we as Christians."

Lord Carey of Clifton, former Archbishop of Canterbury is writing a leaflet for the campaign, planned to be delivered to every household in the country.
