THREE elderly people escaped with minor injuries after an accident near Wareham on Wednesday, September 1.

A red Kia, travelling towards Wareham, collided with hedges and trees after leaving the A352 just before 10am.

It came to rest on its side and all three occupants were safely helped from the car and transferred to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.

Police said the injuries to all three people were “non life-threatening”.

A dog also escaped the collision unscathed.

The road was closed in both directions for around three hours, causing traffic delays.

It was reopened at 1pm.
