FOR anyone who wants to watch Bournemouth’s Air Festival from the best seats of all, the John Thornton hospitality marquee is the only place to be.

On Saturday August 21, from 11am to 6pm, visitors to the marquee will have uninterrupted views of all the displays, including the Red Arrows and the Vulcan B17 bomber.

They’ll get the chance to see the Royal Marines in a stunning beach assault, as well as the Italian Pioneer team in its first-ever UK display. And in between the action there’ll be plenty of time to visit all the stands in the military ‘village’ at the Pier Approach.

The day starts off with champagne, lunch with wine, a Dorset Cream tea to keep you going and a VIP bar and deck to take in the sunshine.

There will also be an auction and silent raffle to raise money for the John Thornton Young Achievers’ Foundation, which raises money in memory of Ferndown Royal Marine John Thornton, who was killed whilst serving in Afghanistan in March 2008.

The foundation supports young people to fulfil John’s belief that they should be able to ‘climb as high as they can dream’.

Tickets are £85 and available from Maurice Patterson (event coordinator) by emailing maurice.patterson or calling 01425 274300.
