IT WAS the reunion all Doctor Who fans were awaiting, and while the return of the Cyber-men didn't send me rushing behind the sofa this time, there are enough scares in this double special to satisfy any critic of the new incarnation.
Rise of the Cybermen and The Age of Steel see the redesigned Cybermen all mod-cons and no tin foil in sight take on David Tennant's Doctor and his extended family in a thrilling back-to-back pairing featuring some excellent direction and a sharp script. Rounding off the disc is The Idiot's Lantern, a superbly costumed and very brisk tale about an alien trying to take over the nation via their TVs around the time of the Coronation in 1953.
